Haddon Township Historical Photographs Strawbridge Avenue School (School No. 5) |
  During construction and shortly after. At the time the school was designated only as School No. 5. About 1928, the school took on the more familiar name Strawbridge Avenue School. The school is located at 307 Strawbridge Avenue. Note the protective construction fence in the first photo. According to Marguerite Bennett, while the school was being built, lumber was disappearing from the site. Precautions were taken to safeguard the building supplies and men were hired to watch the lumber. The men followed a group of boys who they saw stealing lumber.
